Drones, or Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), have many applications in the following business sectors: agriculture, architecture and construction, conservation, delivery, emergency services, engineering, environmental monitoring, homeland security, media, training and wireless internet access. This 2-day prep course will prepare all participants to sit for the FAA Part 107 Certification exam. Cost of exam is not included in course fee.

  • Weather

    • Reading Aviation Weather Reports and Weather Sources

  • Airspace Classification

  • Reading Aviation Maps

  • Airport Operations

    • Traffic patterns, signs and markings, and radio communications

  • Weight and Balance

  • Pre-flight procedures

  • UAS Operations, Specifications, Limitations, Maintenance, and Reporting

  • Operational Waivers and Airspace Authorizations

  • Human Factors and Decision-Making

  • FAA Part 107 Pilot Certification and Registration Requirements

  • Drone Regulation Changes and Practice Exams

  • Third-Party Software/Apps

  • DJI Software Set-up and Navigation

  • *Drone Hands-On Experience: set-up, calibration, flight controls, and practical flying skills

  • Access to Covered Materials and Additional Resources

*Outdoor hands-on drone flying will be weather permitting

This Introduction to Drones 3-hour class, taught by an expert airline and drone pilot who is a drone services business owner, Jason Damman, will give you all the information you need to start flying drones in a safe and legal manner. The class will also provide an overview of drone career paths and what you need to do to get started.

Cost: $99

Note: If you take this class $99 credit will be applied toward Part 107 Drone License Prep Class and $25 credit toward Drone Operations or Drone Training Sessions
