Training is led by Jason Damman, V1DroneMedia's Founder and Chief Pilot. Jason is an FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP), Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), and Part 107 Remote Pilot. With more than 20 years of airline pilot experience and over a decade of commercial drone operations, he brings professional aviation safety principles and real-world flight experience into every class.
Our training programs include in-person FAA Part 107 exam preparation, hands-on drone flight instruction, customized group training, and specialized Public Safety Drone Training for police, fire, and emergency response agencies nationwide.
Jason also provides consulting and advanced instruction for public safety drone programs. He is a co-founder of the North Coast Drone Alliance and participates in regional aviation safety and public safety UAS initiatives, including the Cleveland FAASTeam and Northeast Ohio Public Safety Unmanned Response Team (NEOPSURT).

V1DroneMedia's two-day, instructor-led FAA Part 107 course prepares aspiring drone pilots for the FAA Remote Pilot knowledge test. Whether you're starting a drone business, adding drone capabilities to your organization, or pursuing a new career, our training covers FAA regulations, airspace, sectional charts, weather, flight safety, and operational decision-making.
Classes are held in Akron, Ohio, with weekend scheduling to accommodate working professionals. Students learn directly from an experienced airline pilot and drone instructor, with opportunities to ask questions and work through challenging exam topics.
Most non-recreational civil drone operations require an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate, although certain operations may qualify under other FAA regulatory frameworks.

Part 107 Practice Test System
